Sweet Dreams

"Windows into Wednesdays" hasn't appeared in this blog for quite a number of months. Today, however, marks its return. And it does so with this picture that simultaneously pays tribute to an artist whose 77th birthday anniversary is celebrated today, September 8th. That individual lived only until the age of thirty, but her influence continues even now.

The above photograph shows windows on the front of the home where her family lived when she was born. The house, on its own, is not particularly interesting, but the same does not in any way describe the lady who was incredibly gifted: Patsy Cline.

My maternal grandparents' home had similiar columns on the front porch.

Well, hoping everyone is having a pleasant week.
And in the musical words of Cline, herself:
"Sweet Dreams."

Yawn

Back from our little holiday, and I am ever so tired. Sleepy, too. Nonetheless, Squidley asked me to exercise with him, and I did. After all, I had recently implemented a new and healthy routine.

Now, though, we are going to catch up on some sleep.

Nighty night, everyone.

Virginia Vino

We enjoyed a glass of vino from our favorite Virginia vineyard today.
Nighty night everyone.

Garlic, Tomatoes, and Basil, Oh, My!

We have tasted tomatoes that have made us not want to buy store bought ones ever again. Yes, we grow delicious ones on our patio. But wow! What we tasted this weekend practically knocked our socks off.

And not to be outdone by the tomatoes, the garlic varieties we sampled far surpassed any we'd ever enjoyed.

I'll share more on this topic in a future post.

Nighty night, everyone.

Take a Gander at This!

The five of us, Squidley, me, Scout, Deutsch, and India are enjoying a wonderful holiday and hope you, too, are having a good weekend.

We are tired and sleepy, but happy.

Nighty night, everyone.

Triple Word Score

I've had a love affair with this board game since I was a kid; I never tire of it.

Tonight's competition was nearly called several times, due to strong winds. (Yes, we were playing outdoors.) We toughed it out, though, in part, or perhaps entirely, at my insistence.

During one portion of game playing, I kept a close eye out for a place Icould use a "q." I had a "u," too, which I knew would give me better odds for forming a word. I must have hung on to those two letters for at least thirty minutes before I realized the "q" was actually an "o."

Squidley formed some great words, and I was able to come up with three of my favorite words: queens, blazers, and the one I like most: goatee.

So, wishing everyone a pleasant holiday weekend.

Nighty night, everyone.

A September Welcome

Less than three weeks of summer remaining, with Fall waiting in the wings! And some lower temp highs on the way. Yippee!

Nighty night, everyone.
