Snips and Snails and Puppy Dog Tail

These are the first of the pictures from our Easter weekend.

a "color-blocked" woodpecker

This and the next three pictures are a bit fuzzy since they were shot from behind a window.

Our first night's meal included fresh catfish, boiled carrots, and some sort of yellow rice.

There are fresh lemon wedges for the fish. Catfish, by the way, is a tradition for us. We almost always have it the first night of our first camping trip. (This is an extra picture I added to this post because of the interesting white-tipped tail protruding from underneath the table.)

I will post more pictures this week.
Nighty night, all.

Absentee Bunny

We celebrated Easter only about half a week ago, and already the fellow in the middle isn't responding to roll call.

Yeah. Things that make you go, "Hmmm . . . ."

Nighty night, everyone.

Olan Mills: Look at the Birdie

Thanks to Squidley for "guest blogging" for me last night when it was next to impossible for me to keep my eyes open. He did a great job and posted a darling picture of Scout. Tonight, because I like to keeps things impartial, I'm adding a nice shot of Deutsch. (I think this looks sorta like a photography studio portrait, perhaps in part because of the gray background and the white in the lower portion of the picture.)

This week I will publish some photos taken by me during our Easter weekend getaway. For now, I am, once again, quite sleepy and ready to get into the beddy bye.
Nighty night.

Dream a Little Dream of Me

Much Ado About Dutch

I really do enjoy many Dutch things, with maybe a small number of exceptions, such as Dutch treat (when I must pay) and Dutch oven (when cooking a meal is expected of me). And interestingly, a few years ago, that theme surfaced when I asked an elderly (in her mid-nineties) cousin of my maternal grandmother what my maternal great grandmother was like. I was joyful at her quick response: She was a short, stout Dutch woman. I love it.

Happy Easter, all.
And nighty night.
